SAN ANTONIO AREA SERVICE
Wildlife Removal
Bats, raccoons, opossums, squirrels, and skunks all show up in San Antonio attics, soffits, and crawlspaces. We do humane removal + exclusion. We don't trap-and-kill native wildlife — we evict and seal.
Scientific name: Multiple species — bats (Tadarida brasiliensis), raccoons, opossums, squirrels, skunks Service area: San Antonio + within ~15 miles (Helotes, Stone Oak, Leon Springs, Fair Oaks Ranch).
At a glance
| Size | Varies by species — bats 8 cm; raccoons 50 cm |
| Color | Species-dependent |
| Active period | Bats: dusk emergence in summer; raccoons + opossums: nocturnal; squirrels: daytime |
| Habitat in homes | Attics (bats, squirrels, raccoons), soffits, crawlspaces, under decks, in chimneys |
| Famous trait | A single bat colony in an attic can mean thousands of guano-producing tenants; nursing season runs May–August in Texas |
Identification
Scratching/scurrying noises in attics or soffits. Visible entry points along rooflines, soffits, eaves, gable vents. Droppings (bat guano is small and crumbles dry; raccoon droppings are larger). Strong odor for skunks (obvious).
Risk profile
Rabies (raccoons, bats, skunks). Histoplasmosis from bat/bird droppings. Roundworm (raccoon). Structural damage from chewing/clawing. Always engage a professional — DON'T directly handle any wild mammal.
How we treat it
One-way exclusion devices for bats during non-nursing season; trap + relocate for raccoons (per Texas Parks & Wildlife rules); seal entry points with hardware cloth + flashing. We coordinate with cleanup crews for guano remediation when the colony is established.
