SAN ANTONIO AREA SERVICE
Mosquitoes
Texas has 80+ mosquito species. In San Antonio yards, the Asian tiger mosquito and the southern house mosquito are the two you most need to know. They breed in standing water — even a bottle cap is enough — and they spread disease.
Scientific name: Multiple species: Asian tiger (Aedes albopictus), southern house (Culex quinquefasciatus), and others Service area: San Antonio + within ~15 miles (Helotes, Stone Oak, Leon Springs, Fair Oaks Ranch).

Identification
Asian tiger mosquito has bold white-on-black striping on legs and body. Bites typically itch immediately. Mosquitoes hover and bite multiple times rather than landing flat to feed like a flea.
Risk profile
West Nile virus (common in Texas), dengue, Zika, chikungunya, and heartworm in pets. Even non-disease bites can cause severe allergic reactions in some people.
How we treat it
Standing water elimination first — we walk the property and identify breeding sites. Then larvicide in any persistent water (gutters, fountains, low spots). Yard fogging during high-activity periods. Recurring service from April through October is the pattern in Texas.
